I just put a cone on a 12 inch aluminum cleaning rod and test fired it at 15 feet. I didn't expect it to fly very well, but it launched. My blow gun made a funny noise like a trumpet, but it heaved the dart and it went pretty straight and flat.
I tried to screw a field tip into the end off of an arrow, but the threads are to fine compared to the cleaning rods.
