Ok. Here is what I do for fun. I go to the dollar store and get 10 stuffed animals, obviously this is only $10. Then I take a sharpy marker and color in a "kill zone". Then around the yard I make a 3D blowgun course. For anybody familiar with 3D archery it is the same concept. I make most of the shots 10 yards and below. It is super fun. My kids and friends have tons of fun.

Anyway ... I plan on making a 3D blowgun video to promote the "sport". Is that something people would be interested in viewing?

We developed this type of competition back in 2004. See the gallery "Bear Swamp Archery Complex". At the annual gathering in Tahlequah, OK, the Cherokee have a blowgun competition where they have a course where they shoot from different distances, in a predetermined course. http://www.cherokeephoenix.org/Article/Index/5477 . In the winter Olympics, the Biathlon, they ski and rifle shoot. Archery has the Field Range course. We combined the these disciplines, to honor the Cherokee tradition (the USA's contribution to the international sport), and can use either the 3-D targets (Dollar store, or more expensive, lifelike stuffed animals) or paper targets.

For a short time, several years ago, between jobs, I worked for the local Walmart in their pet dept. They has a plush dog toy at the time, that was very realiatic (more than a Dollar Store, but less than "this place is a Zoo". None of the ones I see now are as realistic, but will suffice for a 3-D target.

etc. Do a search in their Pet dept. online for Dog Toy - 63 pages worth of hits.

Check in your home area for some local archery clubs. See if any of them have a Field Range (3-D shooting ... or shooting at one target per site, then moving on to the next, and so on). If you ask real nice, and explain why, after they stop laughing (Yes, been there, got that! ) they might allow you to "borrow" their range for a 3-D blowgun shoot (especially if you offer to pay for the use ... translates to you'll need to charge a participation fee).

Bruce Bell tried to get the Wayne, NJ archery club to host a blowgun competition on their turf - they wanted (a decade ago) over $250. Worst part, it was not even being used for the date we were looking to host.

Near where I live, there is, in Upper Mt. Bethel, PA - a county park, free archery area - Bear Swamp. I was able to reserve it for free a decade ago (now a fee is required) for the first International BG Competition. Here's pictures on our sister site (slingshotforum) http://slingshotforum.com/gallery/album/1772-bear-swamp-archery-complex/ Check out the hand drawn map. It takes 30 minutes to stroll the loop, so I set 30 minutes as the maximum time to complete the "biathlon" style blowgun shooting competition (Cherokee style - like they shoot at their annual gathering). If you use 2-D (bulls-eye) targets, score is first, if a tie, time is the tie-breaker. Over 30 minutes - disqualified.

If you make it happen, please post photos, would love to see it.
