Buying my first blowgun

2519 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  mr.fetterz
I am shopping for my first blowgun and have to admit it is a bit confusing. I have read reviews on Amazon and it appears that Cold Steel brand seems to get good reviews but the darts seem to be a problem

I know that this will draw many opinions but I really would appreciate input on what would be a good first blowgun. I would like to hunt small game with it. What brand, caliber, length and darts should I consider?

Thank you in advance.

Cold steel 5 foot standard model 62 cal big bore with the spear head darts . The spear head darts no longer have any issues . The newly introduced razor broad heads have a slight alignment issue with the cones but won't be noticeable to the average shooter . The razor broad heads are best for hunting . If you hurry you can get all the above on sale cheap at midwayusa with free shipping .
Thank you very much for the input. This is exactly what I was looking for.

I agree with everything Treefork said. The Cold Steel big bore blowgun is the way to go. I have a five foot take down model and love it.

Let us know what you decide and how things worked out .
I have the 5ft professional version and I love it! The bamboo darts are a slight pain but for the speed they achieve I like em and the mini broad heads are fairly good as well. I've killed a cotton tail with those. And countless birds with bamboo
