So, I discovered today that BT-50 Model Rocket Nose cones have an outside diameter of.541"

It looks like you can get all sorts of aerodynamic shapes. You can also get them in hollow plastic cones, or balsa. A litte trimming and you would have some kick-butt dart cones!

Might be better suited as forms to apply plastic to in a vacuum chamber. There is at least one good tutorial on the DBSC website. Here's a sample pic of a home made cone using a vacuum box.
