It doesnt look like this is an active forum but I thought I would post any way. I just got a new . 50 cal BG and I think I like this caliber better then my . 625 caliber. Its a lot easier to shoot and my chest and lungs don't hurt after 15 minutes of shooting. The other thing I like is that it's an even number size instead some odd ball size so it will be easier to find something to use for a cone. Time will tell.

Look into wire nuts if you don't like to roll your own.
I have, I'm using wire nuts fpr my . 625 cal. I haven't found any so far that will fit the boar. So far the two sizes I've bought is either too small or too big but both are 1/2". One is a half inch outside the other is 1/2 inch inside diameter. The one that is inside diameter fit but there's a lot of daylight in the bore, I think the reason is because the factory cones are flared. I'll waist a lot of air with the smaller ones.

BGers either love them or hate them; there doesn't seem to be a middle bead ground.

Lately I've been using Teslin for my big bore cones.

Pros: Water proof, fray proof, and you can use PVC cement instead of glue.

Cons: Got to roll cones.

Still, if you HAVE to roll, it's the way to go. Your last ready-to-shoot option might be ear specula.

I finally remembered to google "Teslin", I've never heard of it. That sounds like something I would use, I'm going to see if one of the office stores here carry it and try making some cones out of it.
