Shoot instinctively (How should I train?)

184 Views 8 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Christian2023
Hello everyone,

since I only see a single barrel, I have to shoot instinctively.
I try to keep the pipe on target as much as possible.

Now the question. Does this shooting improve over time? More accurate? Do I have to practice at different distances?

At the moment I'm practicing at a short distance (about 3 meters).

I watched some of your shooting videos. Often the first shot didn't hit the target, but then the second shot did.
Is that normal? I'm just a beginner, that's why I'm asking

Best regards

Christian

My dominant eye is the left one.
With both eyes open, I held the pipe to the target via the left eye.

Now I shot a nice group. ;) I've found that I always shoot too high. From what I've found, this is because I'm holding the blowgun too high.

For me I always look at my target and never the blowgun. I’ve been shooting since I was a little boy so let’s say over 30 years. It takes lots of practice to find out how hard to blow and at what distances. Keep shooting the same darts until you get consistent with them. If you’re consistently changing darts then you’re consistently changing weights and that will affect your shooting. Also keep your breaths consistent make sure your mouth is fully pressed against the mouth piece and no air is escaping. I’m not sure I answered your questions but I hope this helps.

Yeah :D:D:D. That was a good tip! Five out of six shots directly to the target.
I paid attention to pressing the mouthpiece firmly on my mouth.

Is it normal that I have a high right spread when shooting instinctively? I always have to consciously hold to the left in order to hit the target.
I would say it just takes practice to get your timing down. What I mean is the timing of you blowing the dart and lifting the blowgun. It seems you’re still lifting as your acquiring the target then blowing the dart. Once you settle in the darts are on target. It just takes practice and patience, it will come with time. Keep up the good work
